Teaching Staff Education

We understand the importance of great teachers and we are proud to announce that all of our teachers here at Tampa Christian Academy hold a BA Degree or an equivalent teaching certificate and are required to have 24 hours in-service yearly.

Students who will arrive before 8:00am will receive a morning care charge to their account. Students remaining on campus after 2:30 on Tuesday-Friday excluding Monday and 1:30pm on Mondays, will receive an aftercare charge to their account in the amount of $1 for each minute thereafter.

 

Morning Care

Tampa Christian Academy offers morning care 6:30am to 8:00am Monday through Friday. The charge for morning care is $30/Week with breakfast included. Charges are billed weekly and are not included in regular tuition rates and is NOT covered by scholarship funding. Students arriving during morning care must be signed in by an adult. 

 

Aftercare

Tampa Christian Academy offers aftercare from 2:30pm-6:00pm Monday-Friday and 1:30pm-6:00pm on Mondays. The aftercare charge is $55/week with snack and homework included. Charges are billed weekly and are not included in regular tuition rates and is NOT covered by scholarship funding.

Students must be signed out of aftercare by an individual listed on the student’s authorized pick-up list.

*For students enrolled in both Morning Care and Aftercare the price is $75/week.

All tuition for before and after school is due on Friday in advance. There will be a late fee charge of $25 added to all accounts with a balance on Tuesday mornings at 9:30am.

Dress Code

Tampa Christian Academy operates under a uniform policy for all students. Students are required to adhere to the dress code policy at all school functions unless notified otherwise. Students not conforming to dress code policy may be sent home or subject to disciplinary measures. All uniforms should be clean and well presented.

Uniform polo tops must be baby blue, navy or white and may be blank or only possess the Tampa Christian Academy logo. The bottoms are solid navy or khaki. (Skort, shirt, dress, shorts or pants). NO tights or leggings

Outerwear

All outerwear (jackets, hoodies etc.) must be solid navy on occasion of cold weather.

Backpacks, Purses, other Accessories

Characters, logos, and slogans on backpacks, purses, lunchboxes, or other accessories should be age appropriate.

Curriculum

Tampa Christian Academy uses the Abeka curriculum curriculum. Both are enriched by hands on learning opportunities.

Bible Training

Tampa Christian Academy believes that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that as such it informs us of the person and will of God and provides practical direction for our lives. Students say monthly scriptures together every morning and study the Bible as part of their curriculum.

Chapel

Students will attend a weekly chapel service. Chapel provides a time of worship and spiritual development. It allows students and faculty to praise and thank the Lord for His goodness and to apply the truths of God’s Word to individual spiritual growth.

Homework

It is Tampa Christian Academy’s policy to send home as homework any work that students did not complete during the school day. All homework assignment must be handed in the following day or assigned date. Homework help is available to our aftercare students.

Grading Scale

Tampa Christian Academy utilizes the following:

E = Excellent
S = Satisfactory
P = Progressing
N = Need’s improvement

Achievement Testing

There will be 3 testing sessions per school year. 1st testing will be completed within the first 30 days of school, 2nd testing will be completed mid-year and the final testing will be done 30 days prior to last day of school. Each report will go home with the students and a parent conference will be set up to go over the result.

Technology and Computers

Children will have online access only with a teacher’s direct supervision when research is being done on project learning, otherwise, educational games will be downloaded for student’s immediate used.
